The Volkswagen T5 is the perfect basic vehicle for people who
cherish an ambitious, comfortable and safe chassis. The vehicle is
nearly as quiet and agile and as safe as a passenger car. The available
engines are all modern diesel engines with 75 up to 132 kW in
combination with a 5- resp. 6-gear manual transmission. Also available
in combination with the powerful engines is an automatic 7-gear DSG
transmission which conduces to excellent driving quality. The safety
equipment, of course, includes ABS, ESP, driver and passenger airbag as
well as - integrated in the ESP - a hill holder. Optionally there are
many convenient equipment components available, such as a permanent
four wheel drive, called "4Motion". Our Apollo is always based on the
box-type van with long wheelbase and a gross vehicle weight of 3.100
kg. Optionally certain versions can be ordered with a gross vehicle
weight of 3.200 kg. The length of the vehicle is 5,29 m, the width is
1,90 m, the height without sunroof is 2,70 m.
The Apollo applies to customers who want an agile and compact camper
van without compromising in comfort of living. The vehicle offers
options that can also be found in the bigger vans made by CS. One of
the most important things is the big sanitary compartment - installed
across, in the back of the vehicle. Inside of it there is a spacious
shower tub and a cassette toilet made by Thetford. Beyond that there is
a seperate washbasin with an extensible water tap. Combined with the
circular shower curtain taking a shower gets comfortable.
Behind the toilet there is a floor-to-ceiling stowage, accessible
through two doors. In the lower part - accessible through the back
doors - the two gasbottles (5 kg each) are located. Underneath the sink
there is another storage compartment where the battery is placed. The
complete rear of the vehicle is installed on a raised floor. In that
raised floor the fresh and waste water tank are placed - both
frostproof. The capacity of the fresh water tank is 97 l and the
capacity of the waste water tank is 65 l. Moreover, in the raised
floor, there is a stowage compartment for camp chairs and camp table,
accessible through the back doors.
In the middle of the vehicle comes the kitchen unit with 2-flame
piezo ignited cooker and a sink with household water tap. There are
also two floor units, a cutlery drawer and a pull-out kitchen worktop.
Above the kitchen a stowage box is located. On the left side in the
middle of the vehicle the floor-to-ceiling wardrobe is placed. Ttherein
the Truma heating/boiling combination Combi 4 and the compressor fridge
by WAECO (65 l) are situated.
In the front of the vehicle, located behind the revolving VW comfort
seats, is a double bench that can be converted into an adittional bed.
The table in the seating area is movable as well as the bench itself.
The seating surface and the back rest are adjustable, so that optimal
seating comfort is guaranteed. The bed in the roof is fastened above
the windshield and consists of a two-piece steel frame filled out with
a slatted frame. On top of this substructure lies a mattress which is 2
m long and 1,35 m wide. All the furniture is made of valuable poplar
plywood with HPL-laminate and is always made with real wooden edges. As
an option, the furniture can also be coated with real wood veneer. All
windows are double-glazed swing-up windows and are delivered with
mosquito nets and blinds. A circular curtain and insulating mats for
the driver's cabin come as standard.
Just like for all other models, the customers can make a choice from
a variety of options and designs. The components are the same as in
bigger camper vans. Solar array, automatic satellite system and
flatscreen are also available in this vehicle. Our ambition to build
the best vehicles in this market segment, of course, also applies for
the Apollo.
