Our model Rondo is based on the all-new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter,
wheelbase 3.665 mm. Therefor the vehicle is 5,91 m long, 2,70 m high
and 1,99 m wide.
The CDI engines start with an output of 95 kW/129 PS as a four
cylinder. As an option there are also 120 kW/163 PS available. The top
engine is a 3,0 liter V6 CDI engine with 140 kW/190 PS. All engines are
equipped with diesel particulate filters and measure up to EURO 5.
Coming as standard is a 6 gear manual transmission but there is also a
5 gear automatic transmission available as an option for all engines.
The essential safety equipment ESP as well as ABS, TCR and
driver/passenger airbag come as standard. Also coming as standard are
central locking with remote control, electrical windows, electrical and
heated mirrors and heat-insulated glass in the driver's cabin. The
further options are manifold from all-wheel drive to Xenon headlights.
The Rondo always is equipped with a special chassis version with
stronger stabilizers and stronger shock absorbers to improve the
driving safety. The standard gross vehicle weight of 3.200 kg usually
is enough but there is also the possibility to order the Rondo with a
gross vehicle weight of 3.500 kg.
We developed our Rondo with a special feature that many camper van
drivers appreciate - a fixed bed transverse the rear of the vehicle.
The only possibility to build such a bed into a Sprinter is to widen
the body with two body widening parts in the back of the vehicle. They
insert discreetely into the vehicle's appearance. Resulting from that
the bed is 195 cm long, although the body's only 202 cm slim from the
outside without losing insulation quality. The bed is mounted ca. 90 cm
from the floor, the maximum width is 142 cm. Underneath the bed there
is a big stowage, accessible through the back doors, where the two 11
kg gas bottles, the Truma Combi 4, the 90 l compressor fridge and the
100 l fresh water tank are located. As an alternative to the Truma
Combi 4 the Combi D (diesel operated) is also available as an option.
If the "Independent package" is ordered the cooker will also be diesel
operated and the gas plant is no longer required. The stowage in the
rear has a capacity of ca. 1000 l so everything one needs like camp
chair and table fits in. In front of the bed on the left side of the
vehicle the 70 x 85 cm wet room is located containing the cassette
toilet, the shower tub and the pull-out sink. If the sink is not used
it takes its place underneath the bed. This disposal makes it easy
either to have a shower in that small room and use the toilet or sink.
The wet room always is lined with a high-gloss white special coating -
typically for CS. On the right side of the vehicle subsequent to the
bed the wardrobe is placed and in front of the wardrobe the kitchen
unit is located. The kitchen unit is equipped with flush mounted cooker
and sink as well as floor units with many drawers. There also are wall
units above the kitchen and bed as well as above the seating area and
driver's cabin. It is possible to change the first door ot the wall
units above the bed into a hinged flat screen so watching TV is
perfectly possible from the bed or from the front seats.
The cozy seating area consits of the revolving driver's cabin seats
and a single seat respectively a two-seat bench. The table is movable
so the use of the seating area is flexible. Installed at the intake of
the table one can find a smart bottle cage for bottles or glasses even
if the table is not installed. Underneath of that in the wall cladding
there also is an integrated magazine rack. To make this compact vehicle
seem well-spaced we put an eye on big aisles and outstanding lighting
and ventilation.
A big tilt/slide sunroof (90 x 50 cm) is coming as standard for this
reason. The sunroof and all windows are equipped with mosquito nets and
blinds as well as insulated glass. Also available is a second sunroof
as an option. The cabinetry is made of 15 mm poplar plywood with a
valuable HPL coating, always made with real wooden strips and is
orderable in different decors or even with a real wood veneer. The
further options are manifold - for example underfloor heating, a
digital sattelite receiver or a solar array. The fresh water tank has a
capacity of 100 l, the waste water tank has a capacity of 60 l. It is
mounted underfloor but another waste water tank can also be mounted
frost proof in the stowage in the rear. The electrical facilities base
on a 235 Ah gel battery with a 30 A charger, LED lamps and sundry
sockets. Because of the many different choices in decors or options the
customer's taste can be transferred to the vehicle perfectly.
